We are thrilled to announce that the Eastern Fat Tire Association (EFTA) will provide all New England High School Cycling (NEHSCA) members with a free EFTA annual racing license for 2017.
EFTA is a non-profit organization of off-road cyclists dedicated to promoting safe, fun and high quality events for both recreational and competitive cyclists. Promoting responsible riding through education and assuring continued regional trail access.
In 2017 EFTA will have 8 events in it's premier New England Championship Series (NECS) and dozens of fun filled local events and races across New England. These events are ideal for families looking to get out and ride, as well as meet other people in the community. You can see a complete list of events on the EFTA website.
Mike Wissel of the EFTA board said "The Eastern Fat Tire Association has had a decades-long commitment to bringing up the next generation of New England racers. Recently, NEHSCA has given our young riders a fantastic opportunity to race against their peers in a well-organized and challenging series. To support and coordinate with their efforts, we will provide all NEHSCA athletes with unlimited access to EFTA races and events. We look forward to helping them realize their potential in a positive, inclusive, and competitive environment."
After learning of the news Kathy Robbin's, League Co-Founder and RI Director noted "This is such an amazing and generous contribution from EFTA and speaks highly to the dedication they have had to grassroots cycling in New England for the last 20 plus years. Both organizations are working together to introduce as many young athletes to mountain biking as possible."
All current 2017 register NEHSCA athletes will automatically receive an EFTA racing license number via email at the beginning of March.
